Yes, thanks for that Toe.  Possible thread derail - my Mac (using both Firefox & Safari) has always shown the NYT coloured squares as just a gif symbol - until the blue in your post above, i.e.

Well the answer says the final group is one of parenthetical words and phrases used in a song title. But I can’t think of songs that have those parenthetical phrases in them. So there’s no way to make the match, unless you’re some kind of music nut. Like Hilda.

In the puzzle world of long ago, that would count as cheating. There used to be a Detective Club in which authors promised not to cheat by hiding essential clues from the reader.

I would have flunked that Connections puzzle. I'd forgotten that the Stones' hit has a word in parentheses, and I've never heard of Montero or Lil Naz.

You are just a thought that someone, somewhere, somehow feels you should be here.
