Oh deadly maiden of the sea,
How deadly can you truly be?
You hold such beauty and such grace
That far exceeds the human race.
Any creature so true and fair
Can't really be man's nightmare.
I believe much can be learned
From a place which can't be burned.
If they can't set the enemy ablaze
Or cremate cities in two days,
Then how do they win their wars?
They must have ways to settle scores.
Please share you wisdom with us all,
Before we are our own downfall.
It's then she struck me in the face
And my status fell to a scapegrace.
With screams and shrieks she told a tale
Of how her race has been curtailed.
It's the hands of men that are to blame,
They think the seas are theirs to maim!
You've dumped your poisons in our world,
And man's true nature has been unfurled.
We patiently wait for your kind to perish
And be replaced by a race to cherish.
Since you have neither gill nor fin,
We'll sing to man and draw you in
So you can meet your watery grave
In the very seas you helped deprave.
She made one splash and then was gone,
But returned with friends before to long.
They sang to me my songs of praise,
Which filled my head with foreboding haze.
Against good judgment, I jumped in,
And felt these maidens were my kin.
Now here I am, too far down,
My kin await for me to drown.
In burning panic, I swim for air,
Instead I'm met with my Despair.
Death cold lips press firm to mine,
Our bodies fatefully intertwined.
We spiral down, my maiden and I,
My last embrace before I die.
