Title: Dutch singles advised to seek ‘sex buddy’
Post by: AB-2007 on May 16, 2020, 01:47:53 AM
Dutch singletons advised to seek ‘sex buddy’ during Coronavirus outbreaks

The Dutch government has issued new guidance to single people seeking intimacy during the pandemic, advising them to find a "sex buddy".

The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) says singletons should come to an arrangement with one other person.

But pairings should avoid sex if one of them suspects they have coronavirus, the advice says.

as somebody who is Dutch I must give some context to this.

The Gov. have not advised anything.

RIVM is a health commission who advice's the goverment in dealing with Covid.
But they also tell people what would be the best thing to do on a personal level.

On their website they have been giving advice about sex during this Corona stuff.
One of them is that you can only have sex with your (steady) partner,
due to the 6 feet distance.

But they also know that there are a lot of single's,
and that they don't have one steady partner.

So they said that it is okay to have sex with YOUR sex buddy again.
Meaning that people who have one can continue doing the hokey pokey,
as long as they are careful and try to minimize the risk.

They have never said that everybody SHOULD get one.

First off, we’re fucking with you.  Yes, the Dutch lost their empire (“even old New York was once New Amsterdam”), but they do have some pretty tulips and windmills.  Second, why not?  I think everyone should shelter in with a fuck buddy.  Maybe replace some of the human inventory that’s dropping like flies.

True.

It hurts my feelings to see that we lost our empire, and lost New Amsterdam
(but then again, we kinda traded it for Suriname and Guyana)

It's funny that you mention this.
The area where I live now (in the US) was part of New Netherland
( basically parts of New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island )

It's funny (for me) to see how many Dutch words I see in town names, street names etc.
Even a lot of common english words are actually dutch.

Brooklyn, Yankee, Coney island, Staten island, harlem, hoboken
might be familiar for being dutch words,

but also words like dollar, tickle, freight, decoy and cookie are dutch  :emot_laughing:
I believe that 1% of english are dutch words.

Not bad for a freakin small country  ;D

I agree.

I live in New York City, and even though you guys split 350 years ago, you've left your fingerprints everywhere. I live a few blocks from Bleecker Street, and a few blocks further west you'll cross Gansevoort Street. And many English-sounding streets have direct Dutch origins like Broadway (brede weg), Bowery (bouwerij), and Wall Street (de Waal Straat).

Not bad for a freakin' small country!

By the way, the Dutch didn't trade Manhattan for its once and future South American colonies. They traded Manhattan for a microscopic island in what is today Indonesia.
At that point, that island was the word's sole source of nutmeg. And the Dutch made a fortune.

I recently watched a documentary about Dutch Ceylon (1640–1796).  Dutch made a fortune controlling the world’s cinnamon trade.

yep we did.

Check out the VOC.

I believe it was the first international operating company, and the first who gave out shares.

They where a bunch of A-holes.
They had their own army and basically forced themselves into those areas.

A lot of our food is Indonesian based.
We do love our spices  ;D

I know this is old news but it gives the phrase "going Dutch" a sparkling new branding patina.

Also brings to mind an old song"

The whole world is blustering
With unhappy souls
The French hate the Germans
The Germans hate the Poles
Italians hate Yugoslavs
South Africans hate the Dutch
And I don't like anybody very much.
