Never have I ever ridden on a train.

Really?  I love riding on trains.  So much scenery.  I always have a book, but find myself just staring out the window.

I haven't been on a train in at least 10 years though.  Next time to Chicago, maybe.

To Chicago?  Nice.  8) 8)

I have taken Amtrak to the far reaches of Montana and from Sacramento to Chicago. Like Jules said, just sit back and enjoy the scenery.

A friend and I jumped a boxcar when we were teenagers.  Just for the fun of it.  Then it didn't stop for about 150 miles.  This was late 80's and before cellphones were the norm.  We finally got off when it stopped and we walked into a farm town about a mile away.  We had no money, not even a quarter.  We went into a little mom and pop restaurant, that was run by an older couple,  literally a mom and pop diner.  We told her our dilemma and she got a phone for us.   I called daddy and told him what we did.  He wasn't happy.  And while we waited for him to come get us, the grandpaish owner made us malts and then we had some hot apple pie with vanilla ice cream.  We even cleaned a few tables and swept as thanks.  Daddy had calmed down by the time he drove there.  Then he tried the apple pie and ice cream and he cheered up even more.
I got in trouble for that one when we got back home.  Grounded for a week.
And for a few years, while driving across I-94, we'd get off the expressway and stop in to that restaurant for apple pie and ice cream.  Then one day we went by and it was closed with a big realty sign in the window.  It was for sale.

I dont know what your all talking about. I road a train in Korea, and it was damn near the scariest ride I've ever had, and i was in a blackhawk helicopter getting shot at overseas.  The thing was bouncing and jerking everywhere.  They had a person come through with a cart with snacks on it, and she kept losing control of it and slamming into seats.

The term 'third world roads' might also be used as 'third world railroad tracks'.
In the US they keep them pretty nice.   Just some clackity clack clackity clack for the entire ride.

A couple of years ago I picked up a guy hitchhiking about 35 years old.  It seems for years he had been hopping trains all over the country coast to coast.  He was wearing a Union Pacific RR hat and was coming from Frederick MD (at least where I picked him up) and headed for Baltimore to hop a train north.  I wasn’t going the whole way so let him off at a gas station to get something to eat and drink.

First and only time I met a real life hobo.

Was that rode or pulled a train in Korea?   ;D ;D

Never have I ever...

Appeared naked in public.

Spent 11 years in the military and about as much in sports (like football) where I'm showering in groups. I am definitely not modest.
