When a couple has a fight, arguing, throwing things and ready to beat each other up, then they pause, and then sex enthuse.

Such as in Mr. and Mrs. Smith.  They are literally having a gun fight trying to kill each other and then they end up having sex and making thing hunky dory.

My fighting usually ends with me alone scarfing down whatever icecream I've got in the freezer

My fighting is always getting mumbled at in angry Japanese and ignoring her.  ;D

What's so irritating to me is in some movies something like a situation that the movie makes it so difficult to solve where in reality it can be easily rectified without any difficulty.

For an example in the movie "Due Date", in the scene where Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis are at a Western Union trying to get Robert's character's Wife to wire Zach's character money to give to Robert's character because he has no ID, Zach's character's ID had his real name on it, but they made out the form in his "stage name", they are told by Danny McBride's character that his Wife (Robert's) has to go back to a Western Union to re-do the form all over again, where in reality all she had to do was to go to their Website to fix it, simple and solved.

I know it's a movie and a comedy but come on, she didn't have to leave the House again to fix it.

Also in that same movie, they go accidentally to the Mexican Border and they didn't want to go there and asked if they can turn around yet the Boarder Guard tells them No, in reality they could be allowed to turn around for going the wrong way. I live in NY state and near the Canadian border, my Cousin told me before that happened to him and his Father that they went the wrong way towards the Canadian border and asked if they could turn around and they allowed it, no sweat.

Also in films characters are breaking the Law and there's no Police around to stop them.

Going back to "Due Date", Robert and Zach are driving around in a stolen Mexican border police truck and with a missing door yet no Cops are around to pull them over to question it. In the movie "Planes, Trains And Automobiles", John Candy and Steve Martin are driving around in their burned up rental car and a Cop pulls them over, telling them that their Car is not fit for driving. It works in that film and it's a Comedy yet in "Due Date" they get away with it. Another thing that they get away with in "Due Date", Zach's character shoots Robert's character in the leg, they're at the Hospital where his Wife, Robert's is in labor, he passes out from his injury due to blood loss, later he is seen recovering from being shot, yet he's not being questioned by the Police?! In reality if you come to a Hospital with a gunshot wound the Hospital has to report it to Police yet they don't bother to?!

I get a lot of client payments by Western Union.  Western Union people in Texas tend to be ESL foreign born individuals who deal with things on a cash basis.  I can’t tell you how many times my clients have failed to give accurate sender and recipient information.  And yes, they have gone down to WU a second time to correct it.

If you are walking across the Rio Grande, there is a “point of no return.”  They will not let you walk back.  Love how you upstate NY folks do things, but it’s more of a war zone down here, thanks to Trump, ICE, and the narcos.  Not like walking into Canada for some poutine.

If you think it unrealistic that a car without a door doesn’t get pulled over in Mexico, I seriously question if you have been to Mexico.  I’ve seen more autos there held together with duct tape and balling wire than I can count.  It’s a land of contrasts.  A lot of wealthy folks in bullet proof limos and SUVs.  A lot of really poor folk, just improvising rat rod style to get from point A to point B.

This only affects our household, but I'm venting anyway. There's too many shows with people speaking in their native language and viewers have to read the translation subtitles.

It adds realisome, I know. And years ago when a show was taking place in another country, but everyone spoke English did seem far-fetched.

Our problem is the wife has macular degeneration and can't focus fast enough to read the subtitles
I try to read them out loud to her but often the translation disappeared before I can read everything. So, we both miss out

Ah...joys of aging.

When I use subtitles on my Netflix, and they start speaking a different language, it just say whatever language they are speaking.  It doesnt translate.

[Speaking spanish] or whatever language.

Otherwise it translates like it would if I was watching it on regular tv.

We have two people in our house who are functionally deaf, so the closed captions are on 24/7.  I like to watch it closed captioned even when I am alone, and I often turn the volume down.  Also a good way to watch something in the middle of the night without waking everyone else up.

The reason it says “foreign language” is that the caption transcriptionist does know Mandarin, and they assume you will read the translation provided by the movie.  If you watch a film with your DVR turned on, you can pause for bathroom breaks, to grab another beer, or to rewind and read those pesky subtitles.  We keep the DVR turned on 24/7 also.

Life hacks.

According to a study of more than 3,500 movie scripts by the Buzz Bingo website, Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street" is the most expletive-laden film of all time, with 715 curse words, more than "Uncut Gems" (646), "Casino" (606), "Jay and Silent Strike Back" (509) and the Brad Pitt WW II movie "Fury" (489).

I can take the occasional swearing but not the F bomb every other word.

Assuming it's a 2-hour movie, that works out to be an F-bomb or other expletive once every 10 seconds. Yeah, that's a little much and I think it would be hard to keep up with the plot with that frequency.

How do you keep coming up with these fascinating little tidbits, anyway.

I saw all of this before Netflix removed it from the UK. It started out pretty good but season 5 showed signs of it being wrapped up quickly. Always a problem when series seem to be commissioned without a planned ending.

Princess, would you like to see it light up and hum when I wave it about
