I saw a headline this morning that I thought was very cool. Game 3 in Philadelphia the crowd noise after a couple of home runs registered on the Richter scale.

https://sports.yahoo.com/world-series-2022-dinger-quake-124152090.html

"As the Phillies unleashed a barrage of home runs on Astros starter Lance McCullers last night at Citizens Bank Park, and the capacity crowd, already at full throat from the first pitch, reached another level.

Did you feel that?

Take a bow, Phillies fans. Your frenzy registered on the Richter scale, literally

According to the Penn State University Brandywine seismograph station, the crowd at CBP was so loud that its fervor registered as seismic activity, in the aftermath of Kyle Schwarber’s home run in the five inning, the last of the five homers hit by the Phillies on the night, tying a World Series record."

I loved the sign one fan was holding up in game 3 "Houston you have a problem"

Phillies have to sweep two games on the road to win. Teams with a 3–2 World Series lead win about two-thirds of the time. Go ‘Stros!

Well done the Astros; a shame the Phillies couldn't make it to game seven.  I was terrified that Dusty Baker was going to get that tooth pick stuck in his throat.

When I watched the movie Moneyball, I latched on to a fact that I had never paid much attention to before. All MLB teams win one third of their games, and lose 1/3 of their games. And it’s all about what happens with that remaining 1/3. The best teams have a winning record somewhere in the neighborhood of .666 (only the Dodgers did better this year with .685). And the worst teams have a winning record in the neighborhood of .333 (Washington was dead last this year with .340). It all comes down to that remaining 1/3. Win 2 out of every three games? You’ll make the playoffs every year.

Do you have an extra long Verlander jersey too? He is now a free agent. 😎😎

So is TB. Make a Mint Julie sandwich. She’ll be the frosty cream filling between their Oreos. 😋😋😋

I have both a JV T-shirt (Detroit, not Houston), and a Tom Brady Jersey.

The Tshirt is long, about to mid thigh.

Make a Mint Julie sandwich.

Heck yeah I'd do a sandwich between those two.   Better than winning the lotto in my book.

Seems one-half of your sandwich, Justin Verlander, just won his third Cy Young award.  He might be busy at the moment celebrating with Kate Upton.  ;D ;D

He also might be busy trying to negotiate a new contract. He declined Houston's $25-million offer and will now become a free agent, at the age of 39.

Cy Young award winners deserve more that $25 million, regardless of age.  Is it age discrimination if he doesn't get paid more money?

*edit, nobody deserves 25 million a year.  That is obscene.  But in the MLB market in comparison to what others are getting, he deserves more.  If only for one year.   Sure giving him a 6 year deal is stupid, because he won't be on the mound in 6 years.
But for 2023, SHOW MY HONEY THE MONEY*

* but not you Detroit, spend it more wisely.

PLAY BALL!  Another baseball season got underway yesterday.

My Minnesota Twins notched their first win against Kansas City, a team and field that's traditionally given them problems. Hope that's a sigh of a winning season ahead.

Well trained and been made compliant....by my cat Neville

Listening to the Detroit Tigers home opener. Loosing in the 6th. Not much of a surprise. I don’t see this year going very well.

Dan and I watched.  We were going to go down there for the party atmosphere, but it was too cold at 10am.  It looked beautiful about 1pm

Loved the first pitch.

Go Tigers!

We went to the Tigers game today.

The nachos were very good.
The Captain Morgan that I snuck in and spiked the large Pepsi was very good.
The Tigers were very good, winning 8-4
