To Step Over the Edge
Teetering precariously on the edge
He mystifies me somewhat
He craves me, he doesn't
His shortfall of words are outweighed by actions
Actions of lust and need
Is it just a cursory moment
Or will he eventually realise
Learning things over again
He's not him
With that it's fresh but not the same
Have I got the patience or the tolerance
Just step back from the edge while I can
Before any emotions take hold or further heartache ensues
A new day presents another moment
He's guarded yet attentive
He's unsure of my sexual confidence
My willingness to share
We laugh and what more could I want
If we are not meant to be a sexual pair
While in the shadows words shared made me feel good
Reassuring me of who I was and still am
Now to let myself free
To take that step if I dare

Great poem. And good luck, if based on RL events.
