What is the weirdest, strangest, or scariest thing that has ever happened to you? (Alien encounter, ghost story, paranormal stuff)
Ok, here's a story for ya.
When I was a kid visiting my grammy and grampy, I wandered off into a forest. Near a lake there were little kids playing.
This is absolutely fuckin' true by the way.When they noticed me they stopped playing and all stared at me. They didn't look "right" even though they were kind of far away. She said "you can't be here now. You have to go." so I ran back to my grandparents. I didn't even look back. My grandpa was PISSED that I wandered off and lectured me about never sneaking off. My grandma also gave me a talking to. Then they lectured each other for letting me wander off for so long and not noticing. They weren't mad at me so much as they were mad I could have been hurt or someone could have "abducted" me.
I told them about the weird kids at the lake and my grandpa told me about when my mom was little, she and her friends would always go to that lake, but then something weird happened and they never, ever went back. I asked my mommy about it when she took me home and she said "baby girl, your stepmom and I don't talk about that." I kept asking her questions, and told her the girl's eyes were really dark, almost black. And she looked very light skinned. The other kids looked just as weird. She told me not to worry about it. But when I got home I asked my stepmom about it and she wouldn't talk about it either. They literally shut down when I brought it up.
They still to this day will not talk about it with me. We visited a couple years ago, and I guess I forgot and told my family I was going to take my daughter for a walk and to check out the lake nearby. My mom, her wife and my grandparents all told me NO! Don't go out to that lake. So we didn't go.
Later my daughter told me about the lights in the forest she saw late at night when she couldn't sleep, and the little kid standing in the field outside of her window. She felt like whoever it was, was looking right at her.
I've had dreams about having a much longer talk with that girl. We talked about the fun things I like to do, and the good things I like to eat. She told me she couldn't have those things, but the lake was unlike anything where she lived and it was a reward. She looked even stranger in my dreams. Whether or not any of that was ever real I don't know. But I do know that I left my grandparents in the morning, and it was after noon when I got back.
