WOO 363 to our fantastic Moderator Vela. It's purely personal. She helped me with a small problem I had with my browser. Another case of my funny fingers

I think you’ve been misinformed. Our Sheriff is still very much administrator/moderator. She has taken a leave of absence on occasion, but she’s never stepped down from anything.

Tire toxicity.
Woo #1614 to Birdy Boy for this TIL

Wow.  Eye opening article.  I knew the recycling of tires is an environmental problem, but this is an issue from the minute they are put on a vehicle.

Astronomy. But understood.

Yeah, don't know what my problem with that word is, not the first time I've done it.  I equate it to the Tomato pronunciation (To-may-to vs To-mah-to), but I know it's not the same.  It's completely different, like a totally different word.  But if I was to say it aloud, I know I would say the proper word. But typing, I get it wrong.  Maybe somethings wrong with my typing fingers.  ;)

It's not a big deal, especially since we all knew what you meant.

While I don't give much credence to astrology, I was born on June 20, so I'm a "Gemini-Cancer cusp."

Here's one description of the "Gemini-Cancer cusp":

"Gemini-Cancer cusps are playful, sensitive, romantic, and intelligent. They're highly perceptive and are more emotional and sentimental than they outwardly seem. They're most compatible with the water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) but may also be a good match with Gemini or the fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)."

Here's another description:

"People of the Gemini-Cancer cusp are born between 18th to 24th June. These people are the real daydreamers who cannot accept their dreams to be wrong or destroyed. They are efficient and productive always. People of Gemini-Cancer cusp are empathetic, brave, caring and they cherish friendships always. Their weakness is that they are often quite distracted."

And here's a description of people born on June 20:

"Geminis born on June 20 have a unique and interesting character. An attitude of emotional instability makes them attractive to others who may feel a need to "take care" of them, although June 20 people are actually much more centered than they appear. They are usually quite attractive and have a great deal of personal charm."

That third one is the worst. I'm neither unique nor interesting, I'm the opposite of "emotionally unstable," I'm in no way someone who needs others to take care of them (almost to a fault), I'm only very mildly attractive, and I don't think anyone has ever described me as "having a great deal of personal charm."

Then again, if you read the first two descriptions, virtually everyone on the planet can find 2 or 3 things that fit them.

What the fuck did I just read!?!?!?

I'm sorry, but have you met you? You should give it a go! Granted I have not met you in person, but I'm flabbergasted by this.

As one of the few, and quite possibly the ONLY person from here that has seen a real life picture of you, .....pardon me, but, 'Mildy attractive' my ass.  Sorry for the profanity, but you're gorgeous.  You're the type of woman that if you were to walk by Dan and my table at a bar, conversation would stop and we'd both be checking you out.  You are not only unique, but so very interesting.
I feel like boo'ing you for that whole paragraph.

Here's a real-life example:

A couple of years ago I was at a party, and one of my colleagues was there with her husband (whom I had never met). A couple of days later she described a conversation she had with her husband on the way home from the party:

She: Did you get the chance to meet Barbara P. at the party?

He: I don't think so. What does she look like?

She: She's very short, with brown hair in a pony tail and glasses.

He: No, I didn't see here there.

There were no more than 50 people there!

For the record, her husband is tall, dashingly handsome, and someone whom even I would describe as "hot."

Well now I'm feeling left out. I've never been ther at interested in seeing what anyone here looks like.. I have exchanged a few pictures with select people here but it's always by mutual agreement.

I too was surprised by Miss B's comments by her remarks about herself. There's no doubt she one of the.more intelligent members here. I don't give much thought to her appearance, that's not important. However
should a PM drop in my message box of her visage, well...I wouldn't complain. I'm not interested in anything naughty. Those days are gone for me.
