I too have great memories of Joe and Michelle when they were posting here. Such a lost...such happy memories.

Wife and I both got a pedicure this morning. The woman is an RN who has taken a class in foot care. Both wife and I have problem nails and with my arthritis it's hard to hold the nail clippers.

The woman is a RN who's taken a class in foot care. She's gone out on her own and did a great job on both of us. When my wife made the appointment I said we should see if there's a discount for two in the same house. She told me to shut up.

The lady arrived and we told her there would be two of us. She said there's a discount for two.HAH! She proceeded to take care of both of us. She had special clippers for our problem nails and everything was slick and painless.

I have one black toe nail where I stunned the toe a few weeks ago. She said this nail may fall off. Don't worry it's not the end of the world. I started laughing, we'd talked about my cancer earlier. I said with my cancer I guarantee losing a toe nail isn't the end of the world. We all got a good laugh.

Wife had already made out the check before the lady got there and told us about her discount. It's $50.00 for one and a $25.00 discount for two. My wife tipped her also. So she ended up with a $45.00 tip and $75.00 for the nail care. She offered to give us change and we declined.

My sisters are coming for a short visit today. Should be
interesting. They've taken to bickering a lot. Taking after our grandmother and her sister. It's a 4 hour trip for me. The youngest sister is driving. She says Google is telling her a little over three hours and she has that Texas lead foot. Other sister has to bring her dog. Won't kennel it for even one day.

Wife came up with the best plan. Get takeout and go to a park two blocks from us. The park includes the second highest waterfall in the state.

Only going to have a couple hours together. They have to head right back to Iowa. Texas sister still has 900 miles to get home. We've never been close. This will be first time in many years all of us have been together. I'll enjoy every minute I get and appreciate the effort they're making to see me.

Finally, after two months, I figured it was time to get back golfing. Found out I would be in a tournament. Not having swung a club in two months I figured the person I would be playing against would beat me handily. Took him all the way to the 18th hole in match play before he beat me. So, yes, I had a great day. Still some pain and last night was not a very good night pain wise but I played much better than I thought.

Congrats on getting back into "the swing of things". Good to hear you did so well.

I remember learning about match play. When I worked at a radio station I put together coverage of a major tournament held each year. I agreed to broadcast the early reports until the sports director finished his DJ shift.

Was just about to do an early report on the start... just some color. My knowledge of golf scores was 72, 68, etc. 18 holes.
Just before I went live the club pro handed me a slip of paper and said we have early scores in.

So, I go on the air and say here's some early scores folks. I look at the paper and see one all, 2 up, etc. (gasp) Now a word from our sponsor.

"JACK!" ( club pro) He came right back and I received a :30 lesson on match play.

I fumbled through the rest of the report and went back to the pro who schooled me on match play. Our coverage went well and the station got lots of compliments on the coverage. Most of the businesses who were our sponsors belonged to the country club that hosted the tournament. So it increased our standing with them.

One will be amazed at all the different games that can be played in golf. And as there are as many different games in golf, there are at least twice as many ways to make or lose money. In fact, it is actually hard to just go play 18 holes without being bombarded with someone saying, "want to bet on closest to the pin".

A happy reunion with my sisters yesterday. My Iowa sister I'd see fairly often but she was having some health problems just as I was ready to go down there again. By the time she was ready for visitors, COVID! As restrictions on that started to ease, I got hit with cancer. My Texas sister I hadn't seen for about 15 years.

I was disappointed that we were only going to have a few hours. It was to be a quick trip up then back home. The start of their trip was delayed. Major power outage where the Iowa sister lives. I was waiting for the text saying they had to cancel. Then I got word the power was back on and soon they were on their way north. All freeway driving and they got to the Twin Cities between rush hours. Saw the car pull up and I went out to greet them. After hugs were exchanged we went inside and started catching up. Iowa sister brought her little dog, so the cat was upset. Still he came out and jumped to the top of his cat tree to keep an eye on things. As he was staring down at the dog on the floor, he looked like a vulture ready to pounce down and start feeding.
Texas sister and I headed out to a nearby grocery and got fried chicken and everyone chowed down. Dog had his own food they brought along. The cat had some of my white meat. My Texas sister got a kick out of giving him some of her chicken too. After more talk, I called my daughter in New York and put her on speaker. She was delighted to hear from her aunts. My sister had her number wrong and hasn't been able to contact her for awhile.

I tried to talk them into getting a motel so they wouldn't have to drive in the dark. Offer to pay for it, but was declined. So after 4 hours of catching up, taking pictures and getting good-bye hugs they were off again for a 4 hour trip home. It was one of the best days I've had in along time. I'm still smiling.

Wife and I took a friend to breakfast this morning. He's helpe :Dd us a lot since my health problems started. Rides to appointments,. picking up groceries etc.

Small repayment, not that that's needed. More like a thanks. After went in the back enjoying the cool morning and sunny skies. Me with the paper, wife with her sewing. Then the cat joined us. He checked over the choices of grass. He's like, "Humm... which will barf up best."

Now I'm finishing the last crossword. All in all, a good dang day.
