73° (23° C) this a.m.  Only going to 80° (27°) by the end of the day.  Now this I like.

A record setting 97 degrees Tuesday, eclipsing the old record of 94 for this date.

Forecast for Wednesday is another record breaking day near 95.

All of North Texas is under a tornado WATCH (conditions ripe for tornado) until after Midnight.  There are already 4 active tornado WARNING zones (active or suspected tornadoes) to the East of Dallas, and it's building up backwards towards the Metroplex.  More severe thunderstorms to the West headed towards town for more fun and games later on.  Everything is building up rapidly at this point (7pm local time).

Update, an hour later: looks like the stuff to the East of town is staying there now, and the storm cells to the West will probably only hit the South side of the Metroplex (South of I-30).  Unfortunately, I'm South of I-30, and I have a partially broken tree that'll give up the ghost and fall if it gets strong winds this evening.  That'll smash my fence flat, as it's a couple of thousand pounds worth of tree.  On the plus side: no new tornado warning zones in the last hour.

Storm line had been moving slowly our way since this afternoon.  It got 80 miles away and suddenly picked up speed.  It'll be an interesting night, maybe.

Watch yourselves.

Huh.  We weren't supposed to get any rain today.  I just heard thunder outside and looked at the map.  It's all moving South-West, which is strange for the Dallas area.  There's also a couple of strong mesocyclones embedded in this mess that have the potential for tornados, so I'll be watching this for a while.

The bigger mesocyclone is headed towards Staci or Katie.  The smaller one with the hook echo is headed towards *me*.

We had unexpected torrential rain yesterday, with hail and high winds.  Trees blown down.  Today has been sunny and blue skies all day.  Nice change.  We’ve had thunderstorms daily the past two weeks.  It will probably be one of the wettest Junes in history.  The aquifer is 17” above normal.  Very nice, except for the mosquitoes.

It's cleared the Metroplex and headed down towards PsiBerserker.  He'll get it in about a half hour.  Currently still has a strong mesocyclone (possible tornado) but the system has been changing rapidly over the last hour.  It could blow out around the time it hits Psi.

We didn't get any active tornado warnings up here, just the strong circulation.  I got some small hail, nothing to worry about.

I’ll be damned if the beast isn’t still alive.  Now I’m wondering if it will hit me.

UPDATE:  It did.

It's not here yet, but I sure feel it.  I have a pain barometer in my back, and let me tell you, the pressure is dropping like a beach ball in the gulf.

Hot and sticky here - not having air conditioning, I've resorted to sitting in nothing but a pair of shorts, drinking cold Belgian lager in front of a fan.

...Drinking cold Belgian lager in front of a fan.

Wow, okay I've got a 6 of Ziegen Boch in the fridge, and ryobi cordless tickling my toes.

Good idea!

It's getting like southern Florida up here. Hot, humid and rain or a thunderstorm every afternoon. Beats freezing though.

Thankfully nothing like that over here!  :o

It's calm in the Dallas area at the moment, although it looks like we'll catch something after sundown.  Toe's gonna feel that thunderstorm that's headed due North; he'll see it in a half hour or so by 7pm.  The rest of it is building as time progresses, fueled by a good sized storm down in the Gulf.  It's 94 in Dallas, and feels like 101F due to the humidity.
