Wife met the surgeon when she went into the hospital with her son.  He said they were doing a quad bypass. We knew he had three bad arteries. Guess they're doing the fourth as long as the chest is cracked open.

He's been very scared since he learned he needed the surgery.

We'll have him here with us for a couple weeks after he's out of the hospital.

I can't even imagine.  I don't blame him for being scared.  I'd be terrified if I had to have open heart surgery.  Wish him and your family the best.

Thanks Shiela and Toe. Could be between 5:00-6:00 PM before he's out of surgery. Mom will visit tomorrow. They gave her a plastic bracelet to wear, showing she's an authorized visitor. He was allowed only one.

So sorry Bob. As Toeinhoe said, it is quite common these days. Still wishes and hopes it goes well for him.

Purpleshoes, please be safe. I read that one elderly couple was surrounded by fire and called their son that they were going to go into a pond.

Well, he's just out of surgery. Doctor said they did FIVE bypasses.
We went there thinking it was going to be a triple

Dr. says he's doing great. Mom will visit tomorrow.

Purple shoes  - stay safe. So many fires are burning millions of acres out your way . All that ash and smoke. Hope the winds die down, it gets cooler and you get much needed rain. Keep us posted.

Thank you for that. Don't have many actual albums anymore, they've all been scanned along with financial records and legal documents (birth & death certificates etc) and reside in triplicate on three external hard drives. All I have to do is grab the most current one and I'm good to go.

The winds have shifted somewhat and are not currently driving flames in our direction. Possible rain by the end of the weekend will hopefully be helpful.

We went for a 16 mile bike ride yesterday.  I have only ridden twice this summer, and nowhere near that distance.  But I figured, I can handle it.

Well, my legs and cardio could handle it.  I wasn't terribly tired after it, but my wrists and my rear end were extremely sore.

I need a new seat, because my two butt bones (bottom of ischium) was killing me!   I was complaining about it from the time I got off the bike until we went to bed.  We got home and I opened a very good bottle of bourbon and had a couple of pours.  It helped.  Just prior to going to bed, I was promised a massage. And it felt wonderful, and eventually led to .... yada yada yada.

This is not a "Meh" moment for me.

This could have changed my life.  Could have made me a better person.  Could have brought me closer to people that.. ok that's all crap, but still, I'm a little upset.  He is sexy as hell, and that pic would have been the perfect addition to the celebrities thread.  :emot_thdrool:

On the news this morning learned there was a shooting near the hospital where wife's son is. A doctor was robbed at gunpoint and when he resisted, robber shot him. Non critical wound to the head.

It was in the parking ramp across the street from the hospital. Hospital and area around there was locked down. Suspect still at large.

What makes it more shocking is it's a very tiny area. Rich people posh homes, etc. Toe will recognize the burn, Edina.  I was told by a real estate agent years ago, that you don't move to Edina, you achieve Edina. :roll:

Assisted the neighbor in closing up her pool, since she lets our grandchildren use it whenever they are visiting. Means summer is past and now months of cold weather.

I don't like heights so we needed someplace on the ground... and that is beside the point. Watch the movie Knives Out he is the gorgeous piece of man that plays the grandson Ransom.  He was also captain america in those marvel movies.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to pack my things, I don't think I can be a part of this community anymore...
