Crappy Day to day......Everything is good with the horses though.
Went to the doctors today, got sent to a specialist for hearing then an audiologist for that goofy sound test (raise your hand if you hear this)....well guess who failed and failed badly......."ME"......I have more testing to do, but it looks like I'm getting haring aids for both ears......Damn...!!!

Love,
Liz

That kinda sucks. On the bright side, if hearing aides is what will restore your hearing, that’s good. It could be worse.

For me, it’s a measurable loss at 8 MHz in the left ear. Practically, I hope it doesn’t get worse. Financially, however, if my hearing gets worse, I may get some extra money in my military pension because I can prove that it was my service that caused the loss.

Anyways, just take it one day at a time with a smile on your face.

That is all.

Not just a day, more like my whole damn week.

Early Monday morning my daughter's father-in-law keeled over and died unexpectedly, presumably from a heart attack. I think my daughter's anxiety is as much from realizing that it could just as easily have been me as from the death of her husband's dad.

Tuesday my sister's husband had his arm amputated at the shoulder. They also found an anomaly with his heart so he's facing heart surgery at some point in the future. By the third day of making 5-hour round trips to the hospital, it was beginning to take a physical as well as mental toll on me.

Saturday was the funeral and I've about reached my limit of being able to comfort family members. I am NOT the right person to come to for emotional support. If you've ever seen the TV comedy The Big Bang Theory, think Sheldon Cooper. Pats on the back and murmuring “There, there,” is about the limit of my ability to comfort people.

Oh yeah, and in the middle of all this I'm trying to settle my mom's estate and running into bureaucratic red tape every time I turn around while my three siblings keep asking what the fuck is holding things up.

There you have an amazingly short synopsis of a week that has me practically tearing out what little hair I have left.

Remmy

I just found out that a person I knew and held in high regard was murdered yesterday morning. Her death has been attributed to gun violence by someone she knew.

Farewell Sadie Hawkins!

So sorry for your loss Lois, violence against women is happening far to often.

That is a huge blow. I’m so sorry, for your loss.

What is it with dying during the holidays?  My stepfather passed yesterday.  I have the funeral of another dear friend to attend tomorrow.  And tomorrow is likely my last day on the job.

My condolences Lois.

I just saw the numbers for gun violence for 2017 far exceeded 2016.  Unfortunately 2018 may be another record year.

So sorry Lois.  Such senseless killings make us feel so powerless, whether we know the person or not.  I can hardly look at the headlines in the news anymore.

Got a predeposit notice of my Christmas bonus: $225.00.

All those 50-60 hour weeks I put in are *really* starting to pay off.

That certainly buys more jars of jelly than the the jelly of the month gift Clark got.

Sorry toe, I get mine in March.  It tends to be a bit more than that.

I went around and asked others what they got.  One poor lawyer got $40.  Seriously, it would be better to just give a bottle of wine than call $40 a bonus.

They got the guy that killed Sadie (Sarah) Hawkins, or at least they would have if he did not kill himself when they tried to arrest him.

I'm not sure how I feel about this.  I feel cheated somehow that he did not have to answer for his crime to her friends and family.  Also count yet another death to gun violence.

But on the other hand he just saved all of us a lot of money on the trial and incarceration.

An overweight MAGA hat-wearing thug menaced a Hispanic female coworker in a tavern across town last weekend.

ID card? I don't need no stinkin' ID card. I already know who I am.

Hate to break the bad news CJ, but it's gonna get worse before it gets better. Wait until she hits her teen years.

So much fun.

When the kids were younger, people would say “enjoy these years, they’ll go by very quickly.”  It’s hard to contemplate, while you are stepping on LEGOs and cutting chewing gum out of their hair.  Then one day you wake up and they are young adults.  No more climbing into your lap to watch a movie, far fewer kisses, and hand scribbled notes are only a memory.  My baby is graduating from high school next year.  His brother is a fork lift operator.  And yes, those years did go by very quickly.   :'(
