Not ignoring KB. I'm just checking in...

To catch you up with where I've been...

I've been missing KB.  Checking in on occasion to make sure the place hasn't blown up and making sure you all aren't trashing the hot tub room. Then logging off.

We're busy working in the yard for what seems like the last week. Splitting plants and transplanting.  Planting flowers. Putting down mulch. And every now and the we sneak in a bike ride or a jog.  My body is aching.

Just showered.  I was sooooo dirty.  We have a game night with friends tonight.  Relaxing and enjoying drinks.  The one friend is a big bourbon guy and usually has some nice bottles.  He texted in the group text that he has a surprise for me tonight.

Did I mention we've been watching "Vikings: Valhalla"?
Im hooked on Viking movies now.

And, I haven't gotten laid in a week. #WRMD

I have no clue what WRMD means. Looks like extra sessions in the bomb shelter for me.

Wife tested positive for Covid this morning. I tested negative. We have a small house so being isolated from each other isn't possible. I did get my second booster last week. Hope that's enough.

To add to WRMD, we had tickets for the new Downton Abbey movie. It's been years since we've been to a theater. Have friends that live near the theater and they'll be using the tickets.

That’s a total bum my friend. Anytime I am tempted to feel bad about something, I remind myself to be grateful I’m not having the kind of year you’re having. No way to sugarcoat it, you’ve been going through hell.

Sending you love and a cock cage photo. Hang in there!

Sad to hear that sir.
could there be a chance that  the test results  are incorrect?
Hope that is the case, and if not, hope she gets well soon.

I'm so sorry for you love. At some point life should realy start to hold back its punches, but you keep going. Love your spirit and constant defiance. Dont let it stop you now. The shots and boosters should help you out for sure. I got my booster on Wednesday.

Other than hearing about mmslaves day, my day was ruined by my legs giving out on me again. Had an extremely busy day yesterday working with dalmatians, and after I was helping some neighbors across the street. When it was all said and done, I was in the shower and I turned for my razor and my knees just stopped working and down I went. Had to crawl out of the shower and use a towel to get my phone off the counter so I could call for help. But the time Jake showed up, I was already back on my feet though. He helped me get dressed and to my bed. He stuck around for a bit and helped me.move my legs and see if I hurt anything else, and when he was sure I was ok, he left. I did call this morning and let him know that I'm moving slow, but doing ok. My legs back and shoulders are really sore, but thinking it's just as much because of the work I had done as much as it was from my fall.

Another mark on my fall record at the physical therapist office.

So sorry to hear that Sweetie. Good you have people to call for help. :emot_kiss:

That's one of the reasons I can handle all that's being thrown at me. We have great neighbors and friends who help when we need it. The Minneapolis VA is underfunded and understaffed yet when ever I'm there the caregivers are cheerful and friendly even tho' underpaid for what they do.

Last but not least my KB friends offering kind thoughts and encouragement help me a lot. Thanks so much.

Get well everyone.

I dislocated my shoulder in a hit and run accident years ago. Every once in a while it goes into a complete muscle spasm. Today is that day. Drugs. I need drugs

That is sad to hear sir. Back in December, landed after a more than 1 foot high airtime on my left foot whilst running. The shockwave was such, I heard a pop kind of sound… plus later that night, had to attend a wedding, which had dance… Damn, the pain was for several days!

Hope that the season passes soon.
With one day of rain in every week this month, the temperature fluctuation always causes me a hacking cough.

I know Uvalde, Texas. I have tried cases in Uvalde.  Uvalde gave us Mathew McConaughey and Roy Rogers, VP Cactus Jack Garner, and Gov. Dolph Briscoe.  And now 19 dead schoolchildren, all in the same 4th grade class, and two adults. A pox on our spineless leaders.

Every time I try to post on this latest horror my mind freezes. That this insanity continues is beyond unacceptable. The politicians will shake their heads and go tsk tsk as they go back to catering to their special interest groups. Clergy will offer up prayers and wait for their God to make things right. The media rush to the scene and put on their serious and shocked voices.
The NRA will call for everyone to be armed for their own protection.

Now I hear parents are having to give DNA samples to have their slaughtered children identified. How much lower can we, as a people, sink before change begins?

I was truly shocked to hear this while Mrs ODK and I were away on a city break.  The BBC are reporting that the husband of one of the teachers has died from a heart attack.  Also that the police were handcuffing parents that were pleading with them to enter the school.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-61604652

I'm sorry USA but you just have to come to your senses and revise the gun laws. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-41488081

Are superstitions true sometimes?
I myself am a non-believer, so when I showed a single Myna sitting on the window grill to another person, I was told that it was unlucky to see a single one alone,
My reply was “Really??” So I took the other person to a third person in a different room, to have them repeat the same to the third person… Obviously, during the conversation, my stuttering surfaced. (As it has been, for the past few years, so completely normal.)
It got a bit bad, and I ended up biting the inside of my mouth. (Again, happens MANY times a year, so uncommon, but not that uncommon)
But this time, I ended up drawing a bit of blood! (Never happened before!)
Bad coincidence or something else….?

Hearing Trump address the NRA in sickeningly simpering tones and have the obscene assumption that he was entitled to read out the names of the victims of Uvalde.

Worried for Rick. I’ve noticed his absence also. Did he say anything?
